The State Government of Kerala has launched an innovative welfare scheme for the students in the state. The scheme was named Kerala Disability Scholarship 2021 for Students. The state government's main objective behind the launch of this scheme is the government will improve the confidence in disabled students by providing scholarships. However, the scholarship scheme is applicable for the disabled students studying Professional courses, PG courses and Technical Training. The scholarships issued under this scheme ranges from Rs 500 to Rs 2900.

Kerala Disability Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The students should fulfill the below eligibility guidelines to get eligible for the Disability Scholarship Program.

  • The students belong to the Disability category of Blind / Deaf / Orthopedically handicapped, and Mental Retardation are eligible for the scheme.
  • The minimum disability level of the students should be 40% or more than that.
  • The total family income per annum should not exceed Rupees 36000 to get eligible for the scholarship scheme.
  • Students' academic percentage in the previous exams should be atleast 40% to apply for this scheme.
  • The government will also provide the reader's allowance for the blind.
